Tulipa Sweet Lady

Not all great gardens grow tall. Sweet Lady makes its mark at ground level, its soft blush pink blooms close-set and confident, with the mottled foliage that makes this group of tulips interesting even before a flower appears. Blooming in April to June, earlier than most tulips, it heralds the true start of the garden season. Planted in pots or at the front of a border, it creates an immediate sense of spring that larger, later tulips cannot quite replicate. As a cut flower it is exceptional — strong stems hold the bloom upright for well over a week, making it as valuable to the vase as it is to the border.
